Nurse

This is Ashish George and we are at the Amakattu house. It's in Mattathipara, which is a quiet little place near Kottayam in Kerala. The pin code is 686651 for the Mattathipara Po if you're sending a letter our way. We call the business Nurse. It’s not a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just our house where we do our work. There are a lot of rubber trees and greenery all around us. You won't find any big signs or glass doors here. Most people who come by are locals who already know where the Amakattu house is. Life is a bit slower here than in the big cities. We start our day early and see what needs to be done. When the monsoon season comes, the rain is very heavy and everything gets quite damp and muddy. We just stay inside and keep working. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or new technology. It's a small family sort of operation. If you want to see us, you just walk up to the front and knock on the door. Sometimes the neighbors' cows come into the yard, but we don't mind it much. It’s peaceful here. We’ve lived in this house for a long time and the work we do is just part of our daily life. We don't make a big show of things. We just try to be helpful and get the job done.
