We are North Tourism (India) Pvt. Ltd. and our main office is actually based at the R.B.N.S. Sugar Mill in Laksar, Uttarakhand. It might seem like a strange place to have a travel office, especially with New Delhi in our name, but this is where we have our desks and our computers set up. The mill area is a landmark around here, so most people don't have any trouble finding the building. It’s quite different from the busy city streets of Delhi. Out here, the air feels different and things move a bit slower. We spend most of our time on the phone or responding to emails from people who want to see different parts of the country. There are usually a lot of maps pinned to the walls and stacks of papers on every desk because there is always a lot to organize for a trip. It isn't a polished tourist office with glossy brochures everywhere. It’s more of a working space where we handle the logistics and make sure the cars and hotels are actually ready for the people who book with us. Sometimes the power goes out in the mill area and we have to wait a bit to get back to work, but we are used to that. It’s a practical way to run things and we like being close to the routes people actually travel on. We just do our best to stay organized and keep everything on track.
