If you ever find yourself in the maze of Old Delhi, specifically near Dariba Kalan, you might stumble upon us at Kucha Lattoo Shah. We are at house number 1765. It’s a very old part of the city, and the streets are so narrow that you can barely walk two people across in some spots. Our office for Niros Travels is right in the thick of it. It’s a small space, mostly filled with the sound of the ceiling fan and the distant noise of the silver market nearby. I spend my time booking tickets and trying to help people navigate their trips while drinking way too much tea. The building itself has seen better days, but it has character, I suppose. The walls are thick and it stays a bit cooler than the street outside. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the door. People usually find us by word of mouth or because they’ve been coming here for years. Working in Dariba Kalan means you’re always surrounded by history, even if you’re just staring at a computer screen. There’s always someone popping in to ask for directions or just to say hello. It can get a bit overwhelming when the market is busy, but we just keep at it, one booking at a time. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s our life here in the heart of Delhi, and we are used to the noise and the crowds.
