The NIIT center here is at WA 82 in Shakarpur. It’s right in the middle of a very crowded part of New Delhi. You have to navigate through some narrow streets to find us, but once you’re inside, it’s a bit of a different world with all the computer labs. We have rows of desks with monitors that stay on for most of the day. Students are always coming and going, especially in the mornings and late afternoons. It can get quite loud in the hallways when classes are switching over. We spend a lot of time fixing mouse cables or restarting computers that have frozen up. The building itself is an older one, so we have to keep an eye on the wiring and the air conditioning units. It’s not a polished corporate office. It’s a place where people come to learn things, so there are always notes on whiteboards and stacks of manuals lying around. Our staff handles everything from registrations at the front desk to technical support in the back. Shakarpur is a busy hub for students, so there is always a lot of energy around the place. We just try to keep the internet working and the seats filled. It’s a practical environment focused on getting through the lessons. Sometimes the tea stall outside is the busiest part of our day when everyone takes a break. We stay open pretty late to accommodate the evening batches of students who work during the day.
