Neda Travels Pvt Ltd is just us working out of a room on the first floor at 538, Street No 6/4 in Zakir Nagar. If you know the area, it’s usually pretty crowded outside with people and rickshaws moving through the narrow lanes. We’ve been here for a bit now, just handling travel stuff. Most days start with opening up the shutters and getting the computer running. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep but you get used to them after a few weeks of climbing up and down. It gets quite noisy during the afternoons because of the street life below, but that’s just how New Delhi is. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at ticket prices. There isn’t much fancy furniture here, just the desks we need and some chairs for people who drop by. Sometimes the tea guy comes around and that’s the highlight of the morning. We don’t have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where we get things done. Zakir Nagar has its own pace and we just fit into it. Most of our day is just paperwork and making sure things are booked right. It’s not a glamorous job but it keeps us busy. We like being in this part of the city even if the traffic is a mess sometimes. So that's basically it, just a small travel office in a busy street.
