National Commission For Enterprises In The Unorganised Sector

We are based out of R. K. Puram in Sector-7, specifically at Quarter No. 349. It’s a government residential area, so the office has that very specific look and feel to it. Working for the National Commission for Enterprises in the Unorganised Sector means we spend a lot of time looking at data and long reports about people who work in small shops or on the streets. It’s not the kind of place with marble floors or fancy glass elevators. We have heavy wooden desks, plenty of ceiling fans humming away, and stacks of files that seem to grow every single week. The building itself is older, and the corridors can be a bit dim, but it’s where we do our daily work. We aren't here to sell products or make a profit. Our days are filled with meetings and reading through various policy documents. It’s a lot of administrative work, but it feels necessary because of the people we are trying to help. Most of the people working here have been in the service for a long time and know how the system works. We know the routines of the neighborhood, from the vegetable sellers outside to the way the sun hits the courtyard in the late afternoon. It’s a quiet, steady kind of existence. We don't have a PR team to make us look modern. We just show up and do the research.
