The shop is right there in Tilak Nagar at number 22, and it's a small place but we manage to fit a lot of stuff inside. Most of the day is spent looking at small screens and trying to figure out why a phone won't charge or why the display has gone completely black. It’s very crowded in this part of town, so there is always a line of people waiting outside the counter, especially in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. We have glass cases filled with different covers and cables, though they never stay neat for long because people are always touching them. The light inside is a bit bright because we need to see the tiny screws and wires we are working on. We don't do much talking other than explaining what’s wrong with a device and how long it might take to fix it. Usually, there is a radio playing softly in the corner to pass the time. The street outside is always full of rickshaws and people shouting, but once you step inside, it’s mostly just the sound of us tapping on keyboards or using small tools. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, so we know many of the locals who stop by just to top up their data or buy a cheap pair of earphones. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us going from Monday to Saturday without much of a break except for a quick lunch.
