N. Chirag Travels is located in West Vinod Nagar, specifically at A 25/2 in Gali Number 10. If you know Delhi, you know how these galis can be—narrow and full of life. We’ve been in this spot for a few years now. The office is small and usually smells like the tea we make on the little stove in the back. We handle a lot of travel bookings, mostly for people in the neighborhood who need to get around India. We spend most of our day on the phone or staring at the computer screen trying to find a good route. It’s a local business, so we know many of our customers by their first names. They come in to chat even when they don't have a trip planned. Sometimes the printer jams right when we need to hand over a ticket, which is annoying, but we manage to fix it eventually. My brother and I started this because we liked talking to people about where they were going. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just sit here, take calls, and try to make sure the taxis show up on time. The street outside is always noisy with scooters and street food sellers, but we’ve gotten used to it. It’s just a regular part of our day in this corner of New Delhi. We keep the lights on late because someone is always needing a last-minute ticket.
