L-18 in Kirti Nagar is where you’ll find us. It’s a busy part of New Delhi, lots of furniture shops around, so there’s always trucks moving stuff and blocking the road. Our office is tucked away, and it’s been there for years. We spend our days staring at screens and talking to airlines. It’s not very glamorous. The carpet is a bit worn out in the corners where people walk the most. We have these big filing cabinets that are almost full. Most of our work is just logistics. Someone wants to go to London or maybe just Jaipur, and we find a way. We have a couple of drivers who come in and out to drop off documents or pick up clients. The phone rings a lot, usually at the same time the lunch tiffins arrive. It’s a small group of us here. We know the regular customers by their voices now. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything. Most people just know we’re here in Kirti Nagar. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to use the backup which only runs the lights, not the AC, so it gets warm. We just open the door to get a breeze and keep talking. It’s a practical business. We focus on getting the tickets printed and the visas stamped. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a local travel office trying to keep everything running smoothly without too much fuss.
