This is the Mtnl office at A-23D Vikas Nagar. If you know the Uttam Nagar area, you probably know where we are. We’ve been here in New Delhi for a long time, handling the phone lines and the internet connections for the neighborhood. The building is a bit older, and the walls have seen a lot of years go by. We spend our days dealing with wires, bills, and customers coming in with questions about their service. It’s not a flashy job, but everyone needs a phone. We have some technicians who go out and some of us stay here at the desks. 110059 is a crowded pin code, so there’s always something to fix or a cable to check. We try to keep things moving. Sometimes the system is slow, and we have to ask people to wait a bit. We don't have a fancy lobby with couches. It’s just wooden chairs and the sound of printers. People come in when they have a problem or need to pay a bill. We know the local streets well because we're always out there. It’s just us doing the daily work to keep the communications running. We don't talk much about goals or anything, we just focus on the lines. It’s a steady kind of life here at Vikas Nagar. We see the same faces often and try to help them out as well as we can today. It is just our routine.
