Mobile Zone

Mehrauli is a crowded place, and Mobile Zone is right in the middle of it at 885/8 Mehrauli Main. It is a busy spot where the traffic never seems to stop, even late at night. My shop is tucked in there, and I’ve been dealing with all sorts of mobile problems for years. People come in from the main road with phones that have been dropped or soaked in water. I do what I can to bring them back to life. It is a small space, filled with the smell of solder and plastic. I have some glass cases with second-hand phones and some basic accessories like cables and plugs. It’s not a fancy showroom. The floor is a bit worn out from all the feet walking in and out every day. Mehrauli has so many narrow lanes, and everyone seems to be in a hurry. I try to work fast because I know nobody likes being without their phone for long. Sometimes I’m up late finishing a repair that turned out harder than I thought it would be. I don’t use any high-tech machines, just my hands and a few basic tools I’ve used forever. I see all kinds of people, from students to shopkeepers from nearby. We chat about the local news while I swap out a battery or fix a charging port. It is just a regular shop doing regular work for the community here in this part of Mehrauli.
