We’re tucked away in Sultan Pur Colony, which isn't exactly the fanciest part of New Delhi, but it works perfectly for what we do. It’s a joint venture, so we have some international ties, but the day-to-day operations are very much local. Most of us here are just trying to keep up with the demands of the industrial sector. We deal with a lot of fire safety equipment and systems. It’s serious work, but we try to keep the atmosphere in the office relaxed enough to get through the day. There’s usually a lot of talk about the heat or the latest cricket match during our lunch breaks. Our office isn't very large, and it can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of new stock coming in at once. We’ve got a mix of young people who are quick with the computers and older folks who know the hardware inside and out. It’s a good balance for us. We don’t spend much time making fancy presentations. Most of our time goes into making sure the orders are correct and the people waiting for them are happy. Dealing with the logistics in Delhi can be a real challenge sometimes. Trucks get delayed in traffic, or the power goes out for an hour. We just work around it. That’s just life in Sultan Pur. We’re a straightforward group. If you need something, we tell you how it is.
