Up on the third floor of L-48 in Abul Fazal Enclave, that is where we work. It is in the Okhla Head area of New Delhi. It is a busy part of the city, and finding parking can be a real headache most days. Metlife is the name on the door, but inside, it is just us. We deal with insurance papers, claims, and talking to people about their policies. The office is usually full of the sound of printers and people talking on the phone. It is not the quietest place, but we get things done. We have a lot of folders stacked up because there is always so much to track. The elevator in the building is a bit slow, so a lot of us just take the stairs to the third floor to save time. We do not have those fancy coffee machines you see in modern offices; we just have a kettle and some tea bags in the corner. It is a regular workplace for regular people. We have some plants on the windowsills that we forget to water sometimes. The view outside is just other buildings and the street below. We spend most of our time staring at spreadsheets and filling out forms. It is honest work, and it pays the bills for the families living around Okhla. We are not trying to impress anyone with the decor. We just handle the insurance files.
