Mayfair Hotel Ltd. is at A 384 in Chatarpur Enclave on the Maidan Garhi Road. This is a very busy part of New Delhi with lots of people moving around at all hours. Our building is right there on the main road, so it is easy for people to spot us. We have several rooms that we look after. Every day starts with a lot of cleaning because the dust from the road comes inside quite easily. We have a small reception area where someone is usually sitting to help out. The Maidan Garhi Road has everything from small shops to bigger stores, so it is a lively place to be. We don't have a big team, just a few people who handle the cleaning and the front desk. Sometimes the water pump makes a lot of noise, or we have to fix a leaky tap in one of the bathrooms. It is just the usual stuff that happens in a building. We keep a stack of clean towels ready and make sure the fans are working. We don't use any corporate talk here; we just tell people which room is theirs and where to find the local market. It can get very crowded on the road during the evenings. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs to be done. We check the water tank every morning.
