Maxim'S Bakers & Confectioners

Vishnu Garden is a busy place, and we are tucked away at A-23, right behind Sheetla Mandir. It’s an old neighborhood, and we have been part of it for quite a while now. Maxim'S Bakers & Confectioners isn't a huge factory or anything like that. It’s just a local shop where we wake up way before the sun comes moving to get the ovens hot. The smell of yeast and sugar is usually the first thing you notice when you walk down our lane. Flour gets on everything, our aprons, the floor, and sometimes even the door handles. People come in after they visit the mandir, looking for something sweet or just a loaf of bread for breakfast. We make a lot of cookies and those little cakes that kids like. Sometimes the shop gets so crowded that we can't find the right size box quickly enough, and things get a bit chaotic. It’s just us here, working the dough and watching the timers. The tea shop next door brings us hot chai in glass cups twice a day, which helps us keep going when we are tired. It’s not a fancy place with polished floors. It’s a working bakery. New Delhi summers make the kitchen feel like an oven itself, but we just keep the trays moving. My nephew helps out on the weekends when he isn't in school. We don't have big marketing plans. We just bake until we run out for the day.
