Maurya Sheraton Hotel

The Maurya Sheraton Hotel is situated on the second floor of a building in Usha Park, Harinagar. It isn’t a huge place like the big hotels you see in movies, but it is a busy spot in New Delhi-64. We spend our days managing the guest rooms and making sure everything is in order. The stairs are quite narrow, and it can be a bit of a struggle when we have to help guests with their heavy bags. We have a small desk at the entrance for checking people in and out. The area around Harinagar is always full of life, with shops and markets everywhere you look. This means it can be quite noisy outside, but we try to keep the inside as calm as possible for the people staying here. We don’t have a big team of workers. It’s just a few of us doing everything from cleaning to answering the phones at night. Sometimes the water pressure is low or the laundry doesn't dry fast enough because of the weather. We just deal with these problems as they come up. We don’t use any fancy systems, just a simple register to keep track of the guests. It is a modest business and we focus on the basic things that travelers need, like a clean bed and a quiet place to sleep.
