Our office is at 406-C on the second floor in Zakir Nagar-West. It’s a busy part of the city. Working at Makemytrip.Com here means being surrounded by the sounds of the neighborhood. You can hear the traffic and the vendors from the window. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit narrow, so we have to watch our step. Inside, it’s just a bunch of us at our computers. We spend most of the day looking at screens and talking to people on the phone about their travel plans. It’s not a glamorous life, but it keeps us busy. Zakir Nagar has a lot of energy. There are food stalls nearby that smell amazing in the evenings. We usually grab something quick before heading home. The office isn't very big. We have our desks pushed pretty close together. It makes it easy to ask a question or share a joke during the slow times. We have a small area for tea and some snacks. The walls are mostly bare, except for a few calendars and notes we’ve pinned up. We don't really have a lobby or a reception area. It’s just a working space. We arrive in the morning when the sun is just starting to hit the building and we stay until the streetlights come on. It’s a simple, honest routine in a crowded part of Delhi. We just get on with things.
