Macmillan India

We are located in the Safdarjung Development Area, at C-7/159. It’s actually a pretty nice part of New Delhi to work in. Macmillan India has been around for ages, and this office is where a lot of the day-to-day stuff happens. It’s not all books and quiet reading like you might think. It is actually quite noisy with people talking about printing schedules and distribution. The office is full of stacks of paper and samples that never seem to go away. We have some long-serving staff members who have been here for twenty years or more, so they know the place inside out. We don’t really do much to promote ourselves in the neighborhood; we just show up and get to work. The building is a bit older, so the plumbing acts up sometimes, and the stairs are a little steep. We just deal with it. It’s a regular workplace where we focus on getting the details right for the books we handle. We don’t have any big mission statements hanging on the walls. We just want to make sure the work is done by the end of the day so we can head home. It’s a straightforward environment, and we like the familiarity of the area. There’s a good little park nearby where we sometimes go for a walk when the weather isn’t too hot or too dusty. It is just a normal office life for us all.
