Lufthansa German Airlines

Lufthansa German Airlines works out of this space at Bw 74 C in Shalimar Bagh. It is a bit of a different spot for an airline office, tucked away here in New Delhi. Most people expect us to be right at the airport, but we handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff from this building. The desks are usually piled with paperwork and the phones don't really stop ringing during the day. We deal with a lot of questions about flights and bags and timing. It gets a bit hectic when the weather is bad somewhere else because everyone wants to know what happens next. The office itself is pretty simple. We have a few computers that have been here a while and some maps on the walls. Shalimar Bagh is a busy area, so there is always noise from the street coming through the windows. We drink a lot of chai to keep going through the afternoon. It is mostly about making sure the details are sorted so things run okay on the other end. Sometimes it feels like we are a long way from the actual planes, but the work we do here matters for the people trying to get from one place to another. We just keep at it, answering the calls and typing in the data until the day is done. It’s a regular job for us.
