Lazeez Afaire Restaurant is out here in the Sandhawli Industrial Area in Muzaffarnagar. Being in an industrial zone means we get a lot of workers and truck drivers coming through. It’s not a quiet, fancy spot with white tablecloths. It’s a place where you can get a hot meal and sit down for a bit. The kitchen is always noisy and it smells like spices and smoke most of the day. We started this because people around here needed a good place to eat that wasn't too expensive. The building is simple, just bricks and a sturdy roof. We do our own cleaning and most of the cooking ourselves. We don't have a big menu with words nobody can pronounce. It’s just the food we know how to make well. Sometimes we run out of things if a big group comes in unexpectedly. That’s just how it goes. Muzaffarnagar can be a tough place to run a business, but we have our regulars who keep us going. We don't do any social media or marketing. People just see our sign on the road and pull in. We try to keep the water cold and the rotis fresh. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s our life. If you are driving through the UP industrial belt, you’ll probably see us near the village area.
