Palam Colony is a big place to navigate, but in Raj Nagar I at 423A, you will find Krishna Telecom. It is a very basic shop where we sell things like memory cards, chargers, and some second-hand phones we have fixed up. The shelves are usually a bit of a mess because we have so many different types of cables and boxes shoved in there. Every morning, I come in and pull up the heavy iron shutter. It is quite old and makes a terrible screeching sound that the neighbors probably hate. We get a lot of young kids coming in wanting the flashiest phone covers or asking us to download something for them. Then we get the older people who are confused about how to use their cameras or send a message. We try to help them out when the shop isn't too crowded. It is a small room, so if more than three customers come in at the same time, everyone is bumping into each other. We have a single plastic chair for people to sit on while they wait for their phone to be looked at. The green paint on the walls is starting to peel off in the corners, but we haven't bothered to redo it yet. We stay open pretty late because that is when the street gets the most foot traffic. Sometimes we just sit outside and have tea while waiting for the next person to walk in.
