We are based on the top floor of L-24, which is on Street Number 1 in Mahipalpur Extension. If you know Delhi, you know Mahipalpur is right by the airport. You can hear the planes taking off and landing all day long. Our office isn't very big. It's just a space at the top of the building where we handle the paperwork and the logistics. The stairs are concrete and a bit narrow, so carrying heavy packages up to the top floor is a real workout. We usually take it slow. Once you’re inside, it’s a bit more peaceful. We have a small radio that plays local stations, though the reception is patchy because of all the buildings around us. There is no elevator, so we walk up every morning. It keeps us moving. The view from the top is mostly just other rooftops and the hazy sky. We have a few computers and some old filing cabinets that have seen better days. It gets pretty hot up here during the summer, so the fans are always on full blast. We spend the day talking to people on the phone and trying to sort out schedules. It’s not the glamour you might think of when you hear about airlines. It’s mostly just hard work and keeping track of numbers. We drink a lot of chai to keep ourselves going. The street outside is always jammed with cars and people. We are just one small part of it.
