Kingfisher

We are based at 5208 Basant Road right in the middle of Pahar Ganj. If you know New Delhi, you know this area is absolutely packed with people and shops. Our spot for Kingfisher is just one of many along the road. We deal with a lot of inventory and shipments coming in. The 110055 zip code is pretty central so there’s always a lot of movement. The building isn't much to look at from the outside, but we keep busy inside. We have piles of boxes and ledgers that we have to go through every single morning. It gets quite hot in the summers, so we usually have the fans going full blast while we work. We don’t really do anything flashy. We just handle the day-to-day operations and talk to the vendors who stop by. Pahar Ganj has a very specific energy, kind of chaotic but also very productive. Our office is a bit old-fashioned, with heavy wooden desks and some old chairs that have seen better days. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the other shopkeepers on Basant Road. It’s a lot of manual work, moving things around and making sure the records are somewhat accurate. We aren't a corporate giant, just a group of people working in a crowded part of the city. Every day is a bit different depending on what arrives at the door. Sometimes the noise from the street makes it hard to hear ourselves think, but we just keep going.
