Kingfisher Airlines

Our office is tucked away in House Number 38, right on Lane II in Qayoomcolony. If you know the Rawal Pora area, especially the Chinar Enclave part of Srinagar, you’ve probably passed by our gate. It’s a quiet spot, especially when the snow starts falling and everything slows down. We don't have a big corporate building with a lobby. Instead, we work out of this house, which makes things feel a bit more relaxed than your usual workplace. There’s always tea being made in the back, and the smell of wood smoke from nearby houses is often in the air. We spend our hours sorting out flight details and answering questions for folks who are trying to get from one place to another. The rooms here have high ceilings and it can get a bit chilly in the winter, so we usually have some heaters running. It’s a simple setup. We have a few computers, some old ledgers, and a lot of phone calls to manage. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It is not the most high-tech environment you’ll ever see, but it works for what we do. We like being based in Srinagar because it’s home. We know the neighbors and the local shops. It’s a practical way to run things without all the extra fuss you see in bigger cities.
