Kingfisher Airlines

Working up here in Shimla at the HQ Artrac is a bit different from the usual office jobs in the city. The air is always cool, and we are surrounded by the mountains. Our specific spot handles the technical training side of things. It’s located at the Brigadier General Staff (Technical Training) section. The building is older and has a lot of character. We spend most of our time going through technical manuals and setting up training schedules for the staff. It’s a lot of detail-oriented work. We have computers and some specialized equipment for the training sessions. Sometimes the weather makes things a bit slow, especially when it rains or snows heavily, but we stay on track. We aren't a big, flashy headquarters. It feels more like a school for adults who need to know the nuts and bolts of the aviation business. We drink a lot of tea and coffee to keep ourselves going. There are usually a few of us in the office at any time, making sure the paperwork is filed and the instructors have what they need. It’s a quiet, steady pace of work here. We like the fact that it’s peaceful compared to the noise of the airports. People who come here for training usually appreciate the change of scenery too. We just focus on getting the technical bits right every day. It is a long walk to get here sometimes, but we don't mind.
