Khimji Ramdas

You can find us over at C-1324 in Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, Sector 1. This part of New Delhi-110062 is quite lived-in and busy. Our space here is where the daily work happens, mostly involving keeping track of stock and managing the local logistics for Khimji Ramdas. It’s a practical setup, nothing like those shiny offices you see in the movies. We have stacks of boxes sometimes and a few desks that have seen better days. The street outside is always full of people going to the market or kids playing. We start early in the morning, unlocking the shutters and checking what needs to be done for the day. It gets dusty, so we spend the first twenty minutes just cleaning off the tables. We don't have a big team here, just a few of us who know how everything works. We use old ledgers and a couple of computers that take their time to start up. When the heat gets bad, we just turn on the coolers and keep at it. It’s about getting the orders right and making sure nothing gets lost in the shuffle. We know the neighbors, the guy who sells fruit across the way, and the postman who comes by at noon. It’s a very local way of doing business in Sector 1. We just keep our heads down and get through the list of things to do every week.
