Kanoo Travels, Jeddah

Our office is located in Rohini, New Delhi, at the 110085 area code. Even though the name mentions Jeddah, this is where we handle things locally. It’s a small, functional space with a few desks and a lot of maps and travel papers pinned to the walls. The phones are the main thing here; they never seem to stop. We spend most of our time looking up flights and trying to figure out the best routes for people. It can be a bit stressful when systems go down or prices change suddenly. We aren't in a big shiny office park. We’re just in a regular part of Rohini where people live and shop. The office has a bit of a cluttered feel with all the brochures and files we have to keep track of. We have a small seating area for people who walk in, but most of our work happens over the phone or email. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the travel business well. We grab lunch from the local shops nearby and keep the coffee pot full. It’s a very grounded way to work. We don't use fancy scripts when we talk to people. We just tell them what’s available and what the rules are. It’s a lot of looking at schedules and dates all day long, but it’s what we do to get by.
