Our office is tucked away at 212, Arjun Nagar, which is right in the Safdarjang Enclave area of New Delhi. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes because we have a lot of travel files and maps taking up space on the desks. We’ve been running Jyoti Travel Pvt. Ltd from this spot for a good while now. The street outside can get pretty crowded with cars and scooters, especially during the evening rush. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background while we work on flight bookings and train schedules. It’s not the kind of place with a big shiny sign or a marble floor. We just have our chairs, our computers, and a lot of pens that always seem to go missing. Most of the people who come in are locals from the neighborhood who’ve been booking with us for years. We know most of them by name. We spend a lot of time on the phone with airlines or trying to figure out the best routes for someone’s holiday. It’s practical work. Sometimes we order tea from the stall nearby and take a quick break before getting back to the paperwork. We don’t really do anything fancy here, we just make sure the tickets are printed correctly and the dates are right. It’s a small operation, but it keeps us busy from morning until we lock up at night.
