Jmd Travels is tucked into the Municipal Market in Connaught Place, specifically at shop number 53. If you’ve ever been to the Municipal Market, you know it’s a bit of a maze and always crowded. Our shop is small but we pack a lot into it. We’ve got stacks of brochures and old ledgers everywhere. It’s a busy place to work because there’s always someone walking by or sticking their head in to ask a question. We handle all kinds of travel stuff, from bus tickets to international flights. The fan on the ceiling makes a bit of a clicking noise, but we don't even notice it anymore. We aren't fancy and we don't have a reception desk. You just walk in and sit down at one of the tables. We’ve been here for quite some time now, so we know all the other shopkeepers around. We usually get our tea from the stall across the way. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We do a lot of the writing by hand before we put it into the computer. It feels more real that way. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three people are talking at once, but we manage to get the tickets sorted eventually. It’s just a regular shop in a very busy market, and we like it that way.
