Jet Airways

Our small office is tucked away on Raj Bunglow Road in Karimganj. It is quite a distance away if you are traveling from the bigger cities like Guwahati or Silchar. We handle the local operations for Jet Airways here in this part of Assam. The building is modest and fits right into the local street. Most of our day is spent helping people with their travel plans or checking flight statuses on the computers. It gets incredibly humid here in the summer, so we usually have the ceiling fans going at full speed all day long. The road outside can get quite muddy when the monsoon rains come down. We see a lot of the same faces from around the town. People drop in to ask questions about their tickets or how much baggage they can take. We are not a massive airport terminal, just a local point of contact for travelers. The 788710 area is home to us. We try to keep all the paperwork in order, even though sometimes the system goes down and we have to write things out by hand. It is a very straightforward job. We don’t have any fancy lounges or expensive furniture. There are just some chairs for people to wait in and a desk where we do our work. We know the local train schedules too because that is how people get here. It’s a quiet life in Karimganj but we stay busy with the travelers.
