Janpath Guest House

Our guest house is tucked away in Street Number 1 in the East Gorakh Park area of Delhi. It is a quiet residential pocket compared to the main roads, and we’ve been running things from house 1/7769 for a long time. The building has its quirks, like most places in this part of town. We spend a lot of our time making sure the linens are washed and the rooms are aired out for whoever is coming to stay. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a big lobby or anything like that. Just a desk where we keep the register and some chairs for people to sit while they wait. The neighborhood has its own rhythm, with neighbors walking by and the occasional street seller calling out. We see all kinds of people, from students to families visiting relatives in the city. Usually, the mornings are the busiest when everyone is checking out and we have to get the rooms turned around before the next person arrives with their bags. It’s a lot of walking up and down the stairs and checking the taps. We try to keep things tidy and functional. It is a family-run kind of vibe here, nothing too formal. We just want people to have a place to sleep that isn't too complicated. Sometimes the electricity flickers or the street gets noisy, but that’s just life in Delhi. We’re just here every day, keeping the keys ready for whoever comes down the street.
