Janpath Guest House Cannaught Place

The guest house is actually over in Gadhi near East of Kailash, even though the name says Janpath. We’ve been here at 1/4 DDA Flats for a good while now. It’s a busy spot. Most mornings start with the sound of the traffic outside and the staff getting the rooms ready. We aren't a big fancy place with marble floors everywhere, just a regular guest house where people stay when they have work in this part of Delhi. There is a lot of movement around here because of the flats. We spend most of our time making sure the beds are made and the water is running right. Sometimes the plumbing acts up because these buildings are old, but we get it fixed. Our office is just a small room with a desk and some old chairs. We keep the registers there. It gets quite hot in the summer, so the coolers are always running. We know most of the people on this block. If you walk down the stairs, you see the daily life of the neighborhood. We don’t have a big kitchen, but we make sure there is tea for anyone who asks. It’s just us doing our thing every day. We don’t use any fancy booking systems, mostly just phone calls and people walking in. It’s simple. We try to keep things clean and quiet for the guests, though the city is never really quiet. That’s just how it is here in New Delhi.
