Janak Spares

Janak Spares is located at 1194/6 in the Naiwala area of Karol Bagh. This is a place where you will mostly find bike and scooter parts stacked from floor to ceiling. The shop at 1194/6 is small and a bit dark, but we know exactly where every single item is kept. The shelves are made of heavy iron to hold the weight of all the metal gears and pistons. There is always a layer of thin oil on everything, which is just the way it is with mechanical spares. We spend most of our time talking to mechanics who come in looking for specific parts for old bikes. Karol Bagh is always a noisy place to be, with people shouting and bikes revving their engines in the narrow lanes of Naiwala. Our shop has an old metal shutter that we pull up every morning, and the concrete floor is stained with years of business. We don't bother much with decorations because they would just get covered in grease anyway. There is a small stool behind the counter where we sit when things get quiet, but that doesn't happen very often. We just keep our heads down and find the parts people need.
