Jal Bhagirathi Foundation

Our office is at 20 Central Road in the Bhogal neighborhood of New Delhi. It is an older part of the city, and it gets quite busy around here. Jal Bhagirathi Foundation has been operating from this building for a long time. It is a simple, functional space. We do not have expensive furniture or modern art on the walls. Most of what you see are files, maps, and people sitting around talking about water projects. Bhogal is a real, lived-in place, and being here keeps us connected to the community. The 110014 area code is our home. We know the local chai sellers and the other shop owners on Central Road. The work we do is not about being fancy or sounding important. It is just about getting things done. Sometimes the noise from the street makes it hard to hear on the phone, but we are used to it by now. We do not have a marketing department to write about a vision. We just have a small group of people who care about the work. People stop by the office to talk, and we always try to have a seat for them. It is a very human way to run an organization. We have seen the seasons change many times from these windows. It is a steady, quiet existence in a very loud city. We just keep our heads down and focus on the tasks we have set for ourselves each week.
