People sometimes give us a funny look when they see the name J W Marriott Mumbai attached to an address here in Paleya. We are located in the Makhdumpur area of Jehanabad district, way out in Bihar. It’s a far cry from the big city life, that’s for sure. This is where we operate, right out of the family connection under Jaykumar Sharma. It’s a local setup, nothing like what you’d find on a seaside road in Mumbai. We handle our business from here because this is where our roots are. The roads can be dusty, and the pace of life is much slower than in the metros. Our office is simple, just a room with the basic necessities to keep things running. We don't have fancy elevators or uniformed staff. It’s just us, working with the tools we have and making do with the local infrastructure. Most of the people around here know us by name rather than the company title. We spend our mornings checking on things and our afternoons dealing with whatever paperwork comes through the post. It’s a quiet existence compared to the noise of New Delhi or Mumbai. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a big building. We just do our work, stay involved with the local folks, and keep the business going as best as we can from Jehanabad. It is a humble operation, but it is enough for what we need to achieve each day.
