We’ve been over here at the Curzon Road Hostel for a while now. It’s an old spot on K.G. Marg, right in the heart of New Delhi. Most days involve looking at road projects and talking to people about toll systems. It gets pretty loud outside with the traffic, which is funny considering what we work on. We are a small team at Intertoll India Consultants. It’s not a fancy office, just some rooms with desks and plenty of paperwork. People come in and out, mostly just to discuss technical stuff. We try to keep things moving. Sometimes the tea man comes by twice a day, and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon when things get slow. The building has a lot of history, though it could use a fresh coat of paint. Working in New Delhi means you deal with the heat and the crowds, but being centrally located helps when we have to go meet clients. It’s practical. We don’t really do anything flashy. Mostly just keeping track of numbers and making sure the consultancy side of things stays on track. There’s always someone on the phone. It’s just how it is here. We like the neighborhood because everything is close by. If you walk down the road, you find everything you need. It’s a busy place to be. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. Nothing more to it really. Just a regular office doing our thing in the city. The rent is okay and the location works for us.
