International Youth Hostel

Our building is at 1818, Uday Chand Marg in Delhi. It is an old-fashioned sort of place where travelers from all over the world end up staying. We have the pin code 110003, which is a pretty decent area to be in if you want to see the city. The rooms are basic because that is what a hostel is supposed to be. You get a bed and a place to put your bags and that is about it. We see a lot of students and backpackers coming through the doors every week. Some stay for a night and others hang around for a month while they explore India. The common areas get a bit messy with shoes and bags, but people seem to enjoy talking to each other there. Uday Chand Marg is a busy street but once you get inside the hostel, it is a bit quieter. We spend a lot of time cleaning up and helping people figure out which bus to take or where the nearest market is. It is not like a big hotel where everything is perfect and quiet. There is always someone talking in the hallway or moving their luggage around. The International Youth Hostel has been here for years, so the walls have a lot of stories if you think about it. We just keep the place running so people have a cheap spot to sleep.
