International Youth Hostel Chanakyapuri

Even though the name says Chanakyapuri, we are actually located over in Palam Colony, specifically at Rzf 556 in Raj Nagar-II. It’s a bit confusing for people sometimes, but once they find us, they settle in okay. We run this youth hostel for travelers who aren't looking for anything too expensive or fancy. It’s a basic setup. We have rooms and beds for people passing through New Delhi. The neighborhood is pretty residential, so it’s quieter than the main city center. We spend a lot of time cleaning rooms and talking to guests about where they are headed next. It’s a mix of students and backpackers mostly. The building is just a standard place in the colony. We don’t have a big lobby with a fountain or anything like that. It’s just a front desk and some hallways. Sometimes we have to fix a leaky tap or deal with a noisy neighbor, which is pretty typical for this part of town. We keep things simple. We aren't a big hotel chain. It’s just a small team of us keeping the place running day and night. Guests come from all over, and it’s interesting to hear their stories, even if we are just checking them in and out. It’s just a place to sleep and keep your bags while you explore. It gets a bit chaotic during the peak season, but we always make it through.
