Indus Discoveries

Out here in Santoshpur Co-Operative Society, things are usually a bit quieter than the main city center of Kolkata. Indus Discoveries is tucked away near Bidhangarh, and we’ve been operating from this spot for quite a bit. It’s a typical Kolkata neighborhood vibe. We deal with travel and showing people around different places, which means there’s always a lot of paperwork on the desks. Sometimes the fans are buzzing and we’re just sorting out itineraries for someone’s trip. It isn't a massive corporate setup with glass walls or anything like that. We have some maps on the wall and old files stacked in the corner. Most of us grew up around here, so we know the local turns and shortcuts. We get a lot of phone calls during the day from people asking about dates and costs. We just tell them how it is. No fancy talk. If a hotel is far from the station, we say so. It’s better that way. Sometimes the internet acts up because of the rain, but that’s just how it goes in Kolkata. We enjoy the work though. It’s nice to help someone plan a journey they’ve been waiting for. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about whatever is in the news. It's a simple life at the office. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't, just people who know about travel and like living in this part of town.
