We are based out of Flat 804 in Mayur Vihar, specifically Phase I Extension. It’s a residential block, so it doesn’t really feel like a typical workplace. Most of us at Indiatimes here spend our time looking at screens and typing away. Being in Block 10 means we see a lot of the daily life in the building, like people walking their dogs or kids playing downstairs. It's a bit of a walk from the main road, but it’s quieter that way. We have a lot of papers stacked up and cables running along the floor because we are always plugging in new gadgets or cameras. It gets a little crowded when everyone is in at the same time, especially during a busy news day. We don't have a big reception desk or anything like that. You just come up to the eighth floor and knock. Sometimes the elevator is slow, so we end up taking the stairs if we're in a hurry. We mostly keep to ourselves and focus on the stories we are working on. There’s always someone drinking tea and complaining about the heat in Delhi. It’s just a regular group of people doing their jobs in a regular apartment. We like it because it feels more like a home than a sterile office. It’s practical for what we need to do right now.
