Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation

We are based at 16/744 in Bapa Nagar, which is in the Anand Prabhat area of New Delhi. This is one of the spots for the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation. If you have ever been to Bapa Nagar, you know it is a tight-knit place with lots of small businesses and houses all mixed together. Our office is not a grand station or anything like that. It is a functional space where we handle the side of things people do not always see. There are a lot of files about food supplies and train schedules. It is a government-related job, so there is always a lot of paperwork to go through. The fans hum overhead all day long. We have people coming in and out, and the phones are almost never silent. Anand Prabhat can be quite dusty and loud, but we are used to it. We do not have any slick marketing here. It is just about making sure the catering and the tourism parts of the railway keep functioning. We drink tea from the local vendor and talk about the daily tasks. Some days are more stressful when there are big changes in the railway plans, but we just handle it. It is a very ordinary, hardworking environment. We are just a small part of a much bigger railway system, doing our bit in this corner of Delhi.
