About Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corporation. – Tourism in Delhi
We are situated at 9/776 in Lodhi Colony, right here in the middle of New Delhi. This is one of the spots where the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation does its work. It’s a very government-style building, which means it’s solid and has been around for a long time. Inside, there are lots of wooden desks and metal cupboards filled with files about train schedules and food services. We don't have fancy carpets or glass walls, just a functional space where we try to keep track of everything. The fans spin overhead while we type away at our keyboards. It can get quite busy when travel seasons are coming up, and you’ll see people moving quickly between the different desks. We handle a lot of the back-end stuff that people don't see when they are sitting on a train eating their meal. There’s a lot of tea drinking and paper shuffling throughout the day. The windows look out onto the streets of Lodhi Colony, which is actually a pretty nice part of the city with all the trees. We aren't here to put on a show; we are just here to make sure the records are right and the plans are in place for the railway services. Most of us have been here for years and we know the system inside out. It is just a regular day at the office for us.
