You can find us over at 1/6019 Kabool Nagar, Gali No.3 in Shahadra. It is a typical Delhi street, very narrow and always full of people and scooters zipping past. This is where we handle things for the Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corporation Ltd. It’s not a massive building like the ones you see in the center of the city. We are in a small office down this lane. Most of the day is spent looking at train schedules and helping people who walk in with their questions about travel. There is always a lot of paperwork on the desks and the sound of printers going. It can get a bit cramped when several people come in at once, but we make it work. The staff here knows the railway system inside out because we deal with it every hour. We usually have tea brought in from the stall at the corner of the Gali. It’s a busy environment but we are used to the noise and the pace of Shahadra. Sometimes the fans are just not enough for the heat, but we keep going. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Just a counter and some chairs and our computers. It’s a very practical place where the main goal is just getting the tickets and catering details sorted for everyone. It’s a long walk from the main road but people find us eventually.
