Our group is the Indian Rail Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd., though most people just call us IRCTC. This particular branch or contact point is tied to the email ashok_crb@yahoo.com. It is a bit different because we handle so much online and through digital channels these days. We spend a lot of time staring at monitors, checking on train meal orders and travel bookings. It is a lot of data to keep track of. Even though we are a big name, the actual work is done by regular people sitting in offices. It is more about the behind-the-scenes stuff that keeps the trains running on time, at least regarding the food and the seats. We drink a lot of coffee and try to keep the errors down to a minimum. It is a lot of responsibility because so many people rely on the rails in India. We just try to keep our heads down and get the entries right. It is practical work. No one here is wearing a suit and tie unless there is a big meeting. Usually, it is just us in our regular clothes, making sure the emails get answered and people get fed.
