Indian Habitat Centre is located at 84, Salawala here in Dehradun. If you know the area, it is a bit away from the main rush, which is nice most days. We’ve been at this address for a while now. The building isn’t anything fancy, just a regular place where we get our work done. Most mornings start with someone unlocking the main door and maybe sweeping the front step if it rained the night before. Dehradun weather can be unpredictable, so we keep a few umbrellas by the door. Inside, there are desks and files, and usually a few people talking about what needs to happen by the end of the day. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s mostly just us sitting around, doing the paperwork and making sure things are moving along. People sometimes get lost looking for number 84 because the street numbers in Salawala can be a bit confusing if you aren't from around here. We try to keep things simple. There is a small tea stall not too far away where we usually get our mid-day break. It is just a normal office life, really. We handle the tasks that come our way, deal with the occasional power cut, and try to stay organized. It’s a local operation, nothing more, nothing less. We just focus on getting through the pile of work on the desks and heading home when the sun goes down.
