Indian Airlines

Over here in Pocket-G/01 in Sarita Vihar, we’ve got this office for Indian Airlines. It’s not the big airport terminal, just a local spot in New Delhi 110076 where the real work happens. We spend our days looking at flight paths and passenger lists on old monitors. There’s always a hum of computers in the background. People come in sometimes looking for help with their tickets or to ask about baggage rules. The desks are cluttered with staplers, pens, and stacks of flight manuals that nobody reads cover to cover. It’s a busy place but in a quiet, steady sort of way. We’ve been part of the neighborhood for years. Most of us have worked here so long we know exactly which chair squeaks. It isn't particularly glamorous. We just make sure the details are right so the planes can get where they’re going. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles during the Delhi summers, so we keep a few fans going. You’ll find us here from morning until evening, just sorting through the paperwork and answering calls. It’s a lot of checking and double-checking numbers. It’s just what we do to keep things moving. No big speeches or anything, just us in Sarita Vihar doing our jobs. The tea guy comes by at four, which is usually the highlight of our afternoon. We enjoy that break. It helps us get through.
