Indian Airlines Call Centre

This call centre is over in New Mahavir Nagar at M-42A. We are on Street Number 4, which is a fairly quiet lane compared to the main roads in New Delhi-18. It’s just a regular building where we handle calls for Indian Airlines. If you walk past, you might not even realize what we are doing inside. It’s a lot of sitting and talking on the phones all day long. The room is filled with the sound of people explaining flight times and ticket prices. We have our little cubicles and a few pictures taped to the walls to make it feel a bit more personal. The tea man comes around once in the morning and once in the afternoon, which is usually the highlight of the day. The chairs are okay, though some of them squeak when you move. We deal with all sorts of people on the lines, some happy and some not so much. It’s just the nature of the job. The lighting is a bit bright but it keeps us awake during the late shifts. We aren't a big flashy operation. We just have our headsets and our computers and we stay busy. It’s a straightforward place to work in a normal Delhi neighborhood. We’ve been at this street address for a good while and the routine stays pretty much the same.
