House No 1012 in Gali No 32 is where we are based, right in the DDA Flats of Madangir. It’s a crowded part of New Delhi 62, and the streets are always full of people, cows, and scooters. This isn't a military base with huge fences; it’s just a regular flat in a big government housing complex. We’ve been here for a while, and the walls are a bit thin, so you can always hear what’s going on with the neighbors. Working for the Indian Airforce from this spot means a lot of commuting and dealing with the city’s traffic. Our daily life is pretty simple. We wake up early when the Gali is still a bit quiet, get our gear ready, and head out. When we come back, it’s usually to a house that’s a bit cluttered with papers and boots. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate logos on the door. It’s just 1012, a place where we rest and handle some of the administrative stuff that doesn’t happen at the main office. The DDA flats have a lot of stairs and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it feels like a real community. People look out for each other here. We aren't trying to impress anyone with how we talk or where we live. We just do our jobs and try to get some sleep before the next day starts all over again.
