Indian Air Force

I work over at 25 Lodi Estate in New Delhi. This is where S K Singh is based, and we deal with Chinese language matters for the Indian Air Force. The Lodi Estate area is quite green compared to the rest of the city, which is nice for a change. It’s an old part of town, postcode 110003. The office itself is pretty functional. We have desks, some dictionaries, and a lot of papers that need translating or looking over. It’s not a place with a lot of excitement, just steady work day after day. We don’t have any fancy signs or big posters. Most of the time it’s just the sound of typing or someone talking on the phone. We take our breaks in the small courtyard nearby. The building has been here for ages and you can tell by the way the windows rattle when the wind picks up. We are just a small part of a much bigger organization. We don't really do anything promotional. Our job is just to handle the language side of things and make sure the records are kept straight. It’s a lot of reading and writing. Sometimes we have to stay late if there is a lot of work piled up, but that is just part of the job. It’s a quiet corner of New Delhi and we just keep to ourselves mostly. It is a serious place but the people here are friendly enough once you get to know them.
