Our office is based in Shahin Bagh, Jamia Nagar, over in New Delhi 110025. This neighborhood has a very specific feel to it, quite different from the central parts of the city. Indiamart Intermesh Ltd. operates out of this area, and we are quite settled in. The streets around Jamia Nagar are often narrow and filled with local traders and residents. We spend our time in the office working on the various parts of the business. It’s a lot of computer work and talking to people over the phone. We don't have a big fancy lobby with marble floors; it’s more of a practical workspace where we can focus. The air here is often filled with the sounds of the local market and the mosques nearby. We usually grab lunch from the small shops around the corner. It's a very grounded place to work. We aren't interested in using big corporate talk. We just handle the tasks as they come and try to keep things organized. Shaheen Bagh is a place where people know their neighbors, and we feel like a part of that community. Our building is simple and functional. We show up every morning, do the necessary work to keep the platform running, and then wrap things up in the evening. It’s just a normal job in a busy, everyday part of Delhi where people are working hard. The winters here are quite cold but we just wrap up in sweaters and keep going with our daily lists.
